Welcome to the Locals Webblog. This blog is aimed to generate conversation, controversy, and smack talk from local Utah Jazz fans. Rather than try to summarize the entire season, I will state this….The Jazz have just lost 3 on the road and cannot play defense to save their lives. They lost to San Antonio – 17th time in a row (regular season, it’s really 20 if you count post-season). Williams is unstoppable, but he’s only one guy! It’s about time the rest of the team gets involved….

The Jazz really missed a chance to stick it to the NBA analysts, with a great chance to beat some of the ‘favorites’ on the road in back-to-back games…. but they just didn’t have the athletisism, the desire, and the raw determination that usually accompanies the Sloan entourage at the ESA.
Gotta learn to fight it on the road – pick and roll it, post it up, and have turkey man drain some money balls!
i still believe… NBA championship quality is there!
I didn’t catch the Mavs game, but San Anton was yet another example of what Popa’s experienced vets can do against Sloan’s still young and over-anxious group of guys. I don’t think anyone had a doubt that Ginobli and the rest could come back and do exactly what they did – and they did it! At the same time, I’m still way stoked on what the Jazz are getting done – if they can keep their core group together and Memo and AK can develop the same consistency as D-Will and Boozer have shown – I’m not just thinkin’ an eventual championship, I’m thinkin’ dynasty!
I agree with Aaron, to a degree. They did have a chance to beat some of the “favorites”. What I don’t agree with is the comment about desire and determination. I believe they had that. What I believe they didn’t have was help from other players on the team. Kirilenko, Harpring, Brewer, Milsap, and even the “Money Man” Okur.
Deron Williams and Boozer put up there numbers but didn’t get the help they needed to win against the “favorites” of the NBA. Without that help, the Jazz don’t have a chance to make it past the Second Round of the Playoffs. When they get the help, I really think they can beat any team in the NBA, yes, that includes the Spurs and even the “BIG 3″ in Boston.
I still love the Jazz and am truly loving the season they are having.
GO JAZZ!
